Miscellaneous collections: Suffolk County - military history, 1776-1864.

Miscellaneous military papers, many pertaining to the 132nd Regiment and the 137th Regiment of the New York State Militia, 1826-1843. Papers include appointments to various ranks, notifications of military parades, rosters of officers, regimental orders, returns of delinquents, court martial proceedings, and letters requesting exemption from duty. Also, registration papers of alien residents of Sag Harbor, 1862; letters from or to John M. Williamson regarding bounty lands for service in the War of 1812; and letters to J. Lawrence Smith about the draft during the Civil War, several from Alfred Wagstaff, Jr., 16th New York State National Guard.
